Results and League Tables now available

League TablesWell it’s been a wet and windy start to the 2012 Liverpool League Tennis season. Surely we are due some nice weather. Even with the bad weather there has been plenty of tennis played and our match results secretary has been hard at work processing the results. The first of which are up on the site now. We’ve also added the league tables for the results we’ve got up to the end of Week 2. Please bear in mind that quite a few fixtures are missing due to bad weather postponements.

If you would like a more up to date way of seeing other results from your section then why not get your club to join up with twitter? The Liverpool Tennis Group twitter feed has been up and running for a few weeks and is working really well. Club such as Bohemians (@BohemiansLTC), Eccleston Park (@epltc), Palmerston (@palmerstonltc) and Rainford (@RainfordTennis) have all been posting their results and it would be fantastic if all clubs did the same. Twitter is also a great way of posting news about your club. It takes about 5 minutes to set up and can be accessed from  both your mobile device and computer.

Check out our twitter feed here.

2012 League Fixtures

The countdown is on to the new tennis season which starts Monday April 30th. All the clubs should have their handbooks by now. There was a problem with the match cards to they should be sent out to you by the end of this week.

The fixtures are now all online and there are downloadable fixture lists for each section. I’ve double checked the fixtures but I would still appreciate it if you could just do a quick double check of a section against the fixtures in the handbook and let me know if there are any mistakes. If you spot anything then please use the contact me button to let me know. I am hoping to get the rules and regulations online soon too.

As you know results will be still be sent by post but there is nothing to stop you from posting your results on twitter. You can find us at @LPLTennisGroup. I also hope to get a Facebook page up soon………………..

Eccleston Park need your help

I am writing on behalf of Eccleston Park Tennis club who have just been conditionally awarded £50,000 from Sport England to redevelop two of our courts and install a floodlighting system. We have been a member of the Liverpool and district tennis league for many years and was hoping that you would be able to support our planning application we have just submitted. You can do this by visiting this link.

This would be such a big help as we believe that the completion of this project would allow the club to keep going for many years into the future. If you have anyquestions please be in touch.
